Hot item: Lawrence Lessig's coat

By   |  November 27, 2007

Want a coat with a story behind it? Act fast, and you can buy Lawrence Lessig’s hand-tailored coat, as seen in lecture halls around the world. If you’re not much of a fashionista, Cory Doctorow’s still-unreleased book, Little Brother, is also available, all through the iCommons 2008 Auction.

The auction is designed to raise funds to sustain the iCommons Node programme, which connects free culture projects around the world. "The people who have donated to the iCommons Auction are leading figures in the global movement to make the Internet a powerful tool for change, innovation, sustainability and development", the iCommons group says in a statement.

"Their donations tell stories of a history that is currently being written about the power of the Internet for change and development."

Other items up for bidding include autographed DVDs; a plush limited edition Firefox mascot, Foxkeh; and even a Second Life survival kit. For more information on the auction, visit www.icommons.org/auction and follow the links provided. The auction ends 12 December 2007.
