Blast from the past: SimCity open sourced
Some time back we wrote about Electronic Arts donating the original SimCity game to the One Laptop Per Child project. Well, now SimCity has been open sourced and released under a GPL3 licence. Which means you can download the source code and some binary versions. SimCity has primarily been made available for the OLPC so your mileage may vary depending on your hardware and Linux distribution used. Get a copy of SimCity here.

That’s great news. Playing with a huge classic as SC and also getting inside the original code.
Any chances of others classics getting the GPL treatment too?
Would love to see some old stuff from Bullfrog, like Populous and Syndicate.
