Novell connects Linux users to Exchange

By   |  December 4, 2003

Novell this week announced support for Microsoft Exchange 2003 via its Ximian Connector for Microsoft Exchange. Ximian Connector for Microsoft Exchange allows users of Ximian Evolution to collaborate with Windows users connected to Microsoft Exchange 2000 or 2003 servers.

Using Ximian Connector users can manage their e-mail, calendars, group schedules, address books, public folders and tasks in Exchange.

Novell is in the business of connecting disparate platforms and computer systems together to give users access to the resources they need, when they
need them, says Paulo Ferreira, technical manager for Novell SA.

Mark Levitt, IDC vice president of Collaborative Computing, says by adding Ximian client support for Microsoft Exchange 2003, Novell is helping enterprise customers promote interoperability with corporate standards and coexistence between Linux and Windows desktops.
