Learn more at Ubuntu Developer Week

By   |  August 28, 2008

If you want to learn more about what’s going on in the Ubuntu developer world then the second Ubuntu Developer Week (UDW) is where you’ll want to be (virtually) from Monday. The second UDW runs from September 1 to 5 in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net.

“There are Wiki docs, MOTU Videos, MOTU [Masters of the Universe] interviews and we’re seeing more and more contributors each day. This is all good and well, but there’s nothing like talking to real people, asking real questions in a real-time environment,” the Ubuntu developer team says in its announcement.

“The Ubuntu Developer Week is designed to give you an overview of what’s going on in the Ubuntu Developer world. Speak to the developers, learn [and] ask questions.”

Sessions

During the week-long sessions will include:
– Packaging 101;
– Upstream Bug Linkages;
– An introduction to MOTU;
– Launchpad’s Distribution Management;
– Working with Ubuntu and Gnome;
– How do I fix an Ubuntu bug?; and
– Introduction to BZR.

A fuller list of sessions and descriptions can be found here and scheduling is on the timetable. Details of how to join in the sessions can be found here.
