By   |  September 6, 2008

With just over a month to go to the final release of Intrepid Ibex, Ubuntu today released Alpha 5 of what will become Ubuntu 8.10.

Due to be released in October this year Intrepid Ibex, or Ubuntu 8.10, will have a strong focus on mobile computing as the netbook battle heats up.

Alpha 5 is the fifth in a series of six planned alpha releases before the initial beta release in early October.
