First Ubuntu Jaunty Alpha imminent

By   |  November 19, 2008

Most of us have only just got our systems updated to Intrepid Ibex, but the Ubuntu development team is steaming ahead with plans for an Alpha 1 release of Jaunty Jackalope tomorrow.

Scheduled for release on November 20, Jaunty is already in a “freeze” state as the team fixes last-minute bugs.

In an email on Wednesday announcing the upcoming alpha 1 release, Steve Langasek wrote: “Since there is still some work to be done to get the installer ready for Jaunty, it’s possible that this first milestone will not be ready on Thursday, but we will do our best to have it out as close to schedule as possible.
