A third of Dell Mini 9s sold with Linux

Netbooks have always been seen as an opportunity for Linux to beat out its bigger rival, Microsoft. That was until netbook-maker MSI told the world that it was seeing a four-times higher return rate for Linux-based netbooks that Windows XP-based ones. MSI”s self-interest aside, the statement had many predicting that Linux’s short run of success on netbooks was over. Now Dell has a slightly different story. The company says that a third of its Dell Mini 9 netbooks have been sold with Ubuntu Linux pre-installed.
