Learn to package apps for Ubuntu

By   |  March 31, 2009

Ubuntu Linux fans wanting to get more involved in the creation of Ubuntu can now learn to package applications during the newly-launched Package Training days. The new initiative by the Ubuntu team will see Thursdays being set aside for online lessons on preparing and maintaining application packages.

The one-hour sessions will be held in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net and will each feature a main speaker and an opportunity for participants to ask questions.

The schedule looks like this:

2 April, 06:00 UTC: Daniel Holbach, Fixing an Ubuntu bug
9 April, 12:00 UTC: James Westby, bzr builddeb –in-15-minutes
16 April, 18:00 UTC: Didier Roche, How-to update a package
23 April, 00:00 UTC: To be confirmed.
30 April, 06:00 UTC: Daniel Holbach, Getting Started with Ubuntu Development

Shouldn’t you update your Related Posts? Just a thought. If I am up to speed on them then everyone is. I started from scratch with Ubuntu 8.1 on December 28, 2008.
