OpenSuse's Community Week kicks off

The OpenSuse community today kicked off its first Community Week programme. The week-long event running until May 17 includes sessions on KDE and Gnome as well as sessions on marketing, board matters and education.

Much like the Ubuntu’s OpenWeek session, the OpenSuse Community week will be held on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and is intended to encourage new members to get involved in the development process of the Linux distribution. But, joining in Community Week is not limited to coders only, many of the sessions also cater for users that are keep to assist in other ways, such as OpenSuse’s various marketing projects, packaging an managing the group’s Wiki.

The week started this morning on Freenode and most of the session streams have their own unique channels. The sessions start at 8am UTC and run throughout the day until 11pm UTC.

– Packaging
– Testing/QA
– OpenSuse education
– OpenSuse Wiki
