Shuttleworth to talk to learners via amateur radio

By   |  June 15, 2005

Local broadband news site MyADSL is reporting that as part of the Youth Day tomorrow the South African Radio League has arranged a link-up via amateur radio between Mark Shuttleworth and South African learners. The event is part of the South African Radio League’s Youth for Amateur Radio programme. Mark Shuttleworth is expected to answer questions about his experiences in space.

“It is our answer to the President’s call to promote ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a driver for economic and industrial growth and development”, SARL President Graham Hartlett said. “ We are excited by the support Mark Shuttleworth is giving us to help attract youth into our development programme.”

More on this at MyADSL and at the SARL website.
