Novell's woes continue as it sheds income

By   |  May 28, 2010

With its future in the balance, Novell’s latest results did little to boost the company. The company, which owns the SUSE Linux distribution, reported a $12 million drop in net income in the second quarter compared with the same period last year.

Novell reported net revenue of $204 million for the quarter.

Income drops were evident across the board at the company which is currently negotiating with as many as 20 potential buyers.

With a growing reliance on Linux for its future, it was bad news for Novell as maintenance and subscriptions for SUSE Linux fell by 4.1 percent, to $35.2m.
