Kexi makes a comeback in KOffice 2.2

More than three years after it was last seen in the KOffice 1.6 release Kexi, a Microsoft Access-like data manager, makes a return with the release of KOffice 2.2.0 release.

Released on Thursday, KOffice 2.2 features the first new release of Kexi since version 1.6 almost three years ago. Kexi has had a complete interface overhaul since its last release. Kexi runs on all major platforms and includes a full visual designer for tables, queries and forms. Kexi supports the SQLite, MySQL and PostgresSQL databases.

Also among the improvements in KOffice 2.2 are a collection of new Microsoft XML import filters that are used in MS Office 2001 and later. Although there is no immediate plans for similar export filters the import filters should greatly improve compatibility.

Full details of KOffice 2.2 can be found in the release announcement.
