Acer's Android Stream comes online

Acer’s been hinting at entry into the Android smartphone market for some time now and now it is official. The Stream is the company’s first Android device.

The Acer Stream runs Android 2.1 (Eclair) on a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Stream sports a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, HSDPA, Bluetooth and WiFi b/g/n. 52MB of memory and 2GB of onboard storage and microSD slot round out a pretty decent looking package.

The 5 megapixel camera is adequate as far as smartphones go but the 720p HD video recording is a good addition.

There are no details yet of when the Stream will be released and how much it will cost.
