Windows 7 to be released in 2010

By   |  March 17, 2008

On the back of a poor reception for its latest operating system, Microsoft has confirmed that Vista’s successor, currently called Windows 7, will be released in 2010.

With a less than stellar performance from Windows Vista the software giant will be hoping to make good with its forthcoming release, although little is know about the OS at this point.

IDM reports that Windows 7 will be based on a “completely stripped down and re-vamped ‘MinWin’ kernel that will be tightly knit with its Windows Live services”.

VNUnet reports that European anti-trust regulators have already “taken charge of a copy of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system” to ensure Microsoft abides by rulings set out in 2002.

I quite like Vista. Yes, it definately is a little slower then XP, but it looks awesome, and as soon as you’ve got used to using it, its easier to use then XP in most cases.

Windows Vista also seems to run more applications at the same time, and give priority to the front window, which XP didn’t do.
