Durban LPI event to go ahead

By   |  February 17, 2006

The Durban LPI examinations are still on track for 3 March, despite earlier worries that not enough people would register for the event.

Event organiser, Colette Malherbe, said exam registrations have picked up in the last couple of weeks and she expects a group of around 30 to 40 examinees.

In late January, Malherbe described response to the LPI exam registrations as “really slow”. But since then, a local company has registered 8 to 10 of their engineers to take part, and others have registered in “ones and twos”, said Malhebe.

There is a requirement for a minimum number of registrations, “purely because of [administration] costs”, said Malherbe, although she declined to give a specific number.

Registration is still open and extra exam packs have been ordered for the Durban event to allow for late entrants, she added.
