Reuters offers financial services on SuSE Linux

By   |  April 24, 2006

Global information provider Reuters has announced that its Reuters Market Data System (RMDS), which provides financial institutions with real time market data, will now run on Novell’s SuSE Linux Enterprise server.

The move is the result of a joint effort by Reuters and Novell to extend the RMDS to the Linux platform. Reuters has also joined Novell’s PartnerNet program and has certified RMDS on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

One of the first financial institutions to switch to the SuSE-based RMDS service is Deutsche Bank which has deployed the system globally throughout its organisation. “We deployed Reuters Market Data System on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server globally across Deutsche Bank. Together they have proved to be a very stable platform for us, and we are pleased with the trouble-free performance they have given us since we installed them.”

Reuther’s Michael Parlapiano said “Novell’s support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from a broad range of hardware vendors and partners in financial services makes it an excellent fit with the needs of Reuters clients.”
